Our school governors want to make a positive contribution to the children's education. The role of our governing body is key to the effectiveness of our school.  Governors serve a four year term and have three core strategic functions:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;

  • Holding the head teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils;

  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

Our governors set an improvement plan, carry out work scrutiny, conduct learning walks, consult with parents and children and staff and attend regular meetings.  This enables the governors to monitor, challenge and celebrate standards within the school.  They are part of one of the largest volunteer forces in the country and have an important part to play in raising school standards.

Our governing body has two main committees:

- Finance, Pupils & Resources

- Strategic Development

The committees are made up of parents, staff and members of our local community.   Some of our governors are co-opted to the governing body, some are elected by parents or staff and one governor is appointed by our Local Authority, Notts County Council.

Copies of our governor minutes and year-end financial statement are available from the School Office on request.
