The school seeks to provide a wide ranging programme of enrichment activities throughout the year—dependent upon the skills available in school, the season andthe demand. Seasonal games, cycling proficiency, choir, recorders, design, art, drama, dance, aerobics and many others are typical of what is offered.Key Stage 2 children have the opportunity to attend field trips involving periods of sleeping away from home. Younger pupils have the opportunity of day visits for studying away from school.
We host, at various times throughout the year, other activities. For example, musical concerts, residential visits to Wales and Leicestershire, involvement in a number of sporting competitions have all taken place. Other events are arranged regularly to enrich the curriculum—for example, a science week, a Europe Day or a Greek Day and links with other European schools. Finally, we provide opportunities for specialist instrumental tuition via the Nottinghamshire music service. OFSTED praised our provision……’The school provides a very good range of after school activities to enrich pupils’ learning…..they broaden the curriculum and provide good opportunities for pupils’ personal and social development’.
