The Cheers Fundraising Group raises money to provide additional resources and equipment for the school through a series of fun events throughout the school year. Our first event was a successful Ladies Night and since then we have held a range of other events from an 80's disco, to an Auction of Promises. Due to the success of the Beer Festival, Summer BBQ, Cake Sale and Christmas Fayre these are now an established part of the school and village calendar.

Our ethos is that we should have fun organising events and that anyone attending an event has as much fun as we do. We also believe that the best people to decide how to spend the money that we raise are the staff and children at the school. We always tell them how much money we have raised and allow them to tell us how they want to spend it. All members of the Cheers Group also have current valid CRB checks.

Since starting in November 2006 we have raised nearly £10,000, which all involved in the group are very proud of. You can always check on our progress by looking at the Totaliser we have in the school reception area. So far the school have used the money we have raised as follows:-

Ø to contribute to the purchase of the plasma screens in each classroom.

Ø Providing a digital camera for each class.

Ø Help in the setting up of a new sensory room.

Ø Buying the Picnic benches with table top games for the playground and sports and outdoor play equipment.

Ø We also use some of the money raised for fun things for the children such as free discos and Easter eggs and have other things planned for the current school year.

Our success is based on the generosity of parents and helpers who make these events possible.

New members to the group are always welcome as are ideas and suggestions for future events.
